The important aspect of paint industry is producing a combination of different chemicals which is the main function and it is controlled by using PLC and SCADA. This method relies on varied objectives like superior quality, increased efficiency, high profit and others depending upon the purpose of the company that implies in it. This project is implemented in a paint industry to produce different recipes of chemical products (paints). The batch systems we implement allow for planning and accurate execution of batch production that is dispensing certain components to mixers, reactors or tanks according to the set recipe. Dosing of components follows a certain order and suitable weight, volumetric and molar proportions. By using our batching system, it is also possible to program additional process phases such as batch heating or cooling, mixing, and resting.
Dpstar has designed mixing and dispersing units specially to meet the paint manufacturing requirements. Dpstar designed and built a complete batching system to mix and match over 20 different colors to produce custom-made paints. The whole batching process is based on weighing by FLINTEC load cells which are more accurate than their usual manual practice. By using FATEK programmable controllers and ASPIC 3.30 SCADA, they are able to produce more high-quality and consistent products. Our batching system enables the entire management of raw materials, product formulation, sub-recipes and recipes, inventories, production, and cleaning sequences to be optimized while maintaining quality and safety. Thanks to the reporting and archiving system, it is possible to analyze data and present it in a user-friendly form, all being available from the operator’s station. The Automation of the process operated using the PLC ladder program is user-friendly, the running process can be viewed by operators on a graphical screen using SCADA software. The plant processes and systems can easily troubleshoot based on graphical screens without going to the corresponding floor. Process automation also has a backup of all processes in a storage device.
